I don't see a declaration.

Well, not before the 4th morning

Seriously, no point in one.

If they are still batting on the 3rd morning and 500+ ahead I still wouldn't declare.
Pretty much all the batsmen except Root need runs so yeah. Unlikely to bat all day tomorrow though, Stokes Buttler and Moeen all seem to bat in cameos

Jos Buttler with a HS of 80 should be looking to play a proper innings to prove he's a Test player every chance he gets.

Also it's day 1. What value does a quick 25 have?
See your point - have an eye on another win inside three days, that was my thinking.

Get a quick lead of 300 and have either nothing or virtually nothing to chase on Saturday.

Our guys get 2 days of R+R, the Australians get two to stew over being mullered.

England win by an innings and 300 does have a nice sound to it - let's get this won ASAP and get the guys a couple of rest days would be my thinking though.

****ing great day for England that! Be nice to kick on some more tomorrow, get to 500 and declare. Then hopefully Australia will at least show a bit of heart before they fall to a miserable defeat.

The weather forecast is good. The win will come. Get as many runs in the 1st innings as you can.

It's the end of day 1, not day 3!

Unless we get rain at some point then I can't see any reason for us to declare at any point.

decent day that anyway.

Just keep batting, Bairstow did well but rode his luck. Still like the balance of the side with him in it.

Rooty just gets better and better. WAFG.

Aim should be to bat all day tomorrow and shove them in for the last 5 overs maybe if we are still batting as the lead by then will be 500. Simply have to be looking at winning this match by an innings and crushing Australia totally.

Can't wait for the press conference and hearing what the Aussies have to say after that.

Would be great if Wood had a go at them in the morning, totally rub it in.

Gotta say Jos should have walked out and looked for 10 minutes of carnage, even if it's just a quick 25.
Why would Jos come out ahead of Stokes and then slog?

Gotta say this Australian line-up is one of the most over-hyped sides I've ever seen.

Can't think of a worse instance off the top of my head.
