Why? The only way Ballance scores off him from around the wicket is with his eyes closed.
Fair point. It's more this swapping after 2 deliveries that's seems to be creating more easy scoring opportunities that's annoying me.

Ballance might have been chanceless to this point, but in the overall context of the series, I don't think the Australians will be too threatened.

He's basically snicked off to first slip and this'll be the only wicket on which that won't carry, and there's been a number of other balls that have been headed towards the cordon that have done similar.
You'd have to think that if this match keeps going the way it's going, the rest of the pitches will be as close to this one as possible. We've seen slow pitches at all of the grounds in the series before.

Is Warne posting comments in cricinfo under a different name?

Ben: "As good a recovery as this is, England are still only 2 wickets away from being in the mire again. These guys need to add another 50 runs before we're back on a par/decent scorecard."

There's only so much you can do to change the natural surface.

The "preparation" will determine what they are like more towards the end of the Test; they will start as 3rd day wickets. The new ball usually still carries at most English venues pretty well.

Promising start to my Root vs. Smith runs scored in the series bet. Go big Yorkshire lad.

Beautiful boundary, there's nothing quite like a four that makes an Australian desperately chase it all the way there and fail
