I think I've set my Juve team up pretty well. 14 points clear of 2nd place Roma after 20 games, not conceded in 9 League games, not too bad. Deulofeu won European Golden Boy after a run of awesome performances. I've then added my Pirlo-replacement in Ruben Neves, and signed the other 50% of Domenico Berardi, so it's been a pretty handy first half of the season. Feeling a treble first season coming on.

I get to a point in most FM saves where I've lost the desire to continue on really, it just gets a bit.... boring.

Happened earlier today when I beat Middlesbrough 16-0...

That's kinda why LLM rules exist.

I can understand wanting to manage the club you support, but personally I just don't enjoy starting in the top flight anymore. You get too much money too quickly, and the players willing to sign for you are too good.

I think the last time I enjoyed it was when I picked Swansea and limited myself to only Welsh players.

Yeah, its going to be a restart and do a British only players thing, probably go LLM - something I've never really enjoyed doing as I lack patience. Last time I did that was CM 01 with Macclesfield.

Started playing CM 01/02 again recently, and man it's good. Can race through a season in 4 hours and reliving some of the old squads and great names is so much fun.

Wayne Rooney is an average 16 year old at Everton
Cristiano Ronaldo is a terrible unknown forward
Messi doesn't exist
Van Nistelrooy is at the height of his powers
Ronaldinho has just joined PSG
Man City are in Div 1
Wimbledon still exist
Stoke, Wigan and QPR are in Div 2
Swansea are in Div 3, as are Hull
Atletico Madrid are in the Spanish 2nd Division, have Torres and he's awesome
Marc Overmars and Patrick Kluivert are smashing it at Barcelona
The Galacticos Era is kicking off with Figo and Zidane already at Madrid; Ronaldo however is still at Inter
Michael Owen is actually good
Leeds are rich and title contenders
Arsenal's team looks incredibly strong with Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg, Vieira, Cole, Adams, Seaman, and of course Francis Jeffers
To Madeira and Maxim Tsigalko are the best strikers on the game, neither actually exist IRL
Mike Duff, a 21 year old Englishman plying his trade at Cheltenham is the best right-back on the game
Mark Kerr, an 19 year old Scot is the best midfielder on the game
Cherno Samba, a 16 year old Milwall striker becomes one of the best players of his generation
Maldini, Shearer, Desailly, Stam, Batistuta, Di Canio, Ince, Gazza, Schmeichel. R Baggio, Zola, Le Tissier and Yeboah are all on the game

Have taken over Atletico Madrid in Div 2. Sold £10m worth of reserve players and blokes I'd not heard off giving me a pretty nice transfer budget. I've then spent £7.5m bringing in Mark Kerr, Mike Duff, Dionisis Chiotis, Isaac Okoronkwo, To Madeira and Stefan Selakovic. My Strongest XI is:

Love the tactic, it's classic CM. I miss being able to add the arrows, it's so simple. Epic game. Need some new CB's and a DM, but they will get added in January!

There is absolutely no doubting the abilities of Sigþorsson.

Whilst I was in the UK recently, I was digging through my storage unit to see if I could reduce down the contents and whilst doing so I found not only Champ Man 2 (95/96 I think) but also a load of paperwork from a pre-CM/Premier Manager play-by-mail football game. How very tragic.

CM2 was the first CM game I played. Loved that game. I had the English/Scotlandleagues one, and the French/German/Italian one, and spent ridiculous amounts of time playing them. I would absolutely boss that game as Rangers, or Borussia Munchengladbach!

I got hooked through CM94 personally, what a game. Remember taking Crewe to the top in that a few times. a 2-1-3-1-3 tactic was unbeatable. Only downside was losing your best performers to abroad. Impossible to get them to sign a new contract, and nigh on impossible to get them to return. Got that silly that I lost both Darren Eadie and Ade Akinbye that way.

Least I had Nii Lamptey to make up for it.....

He's amazing in 00/01 and 01/02. I could never get him to play that well for me in 01/02 but he dominated in a save me and my brother had in 00/01 where he scored 30 goals as I got Blackburn promoted from Division 1.

Kennedy Bakircioglu is the real gun in CM01/02, along with Mark Kerr the first player I would sign no matter the save. Had him at Reading in Division 2, PSV Eindhoven as we won 3 CLs in a row and at Sampdoria in Serie B/A (where I discovered he was a gun striker as he was the Serie A top scorer the first season after promotion.

Started out an Arsenal save on 15 at the end of last week. Javi Martinez for £30m was my only summer business. Feel like I'm starting to get a bit better. Have a pretty tough start in the PL though (Swansea away, United home, Southampton home, Chelsea away, Everton home first five fixtures) and a tough CL draw (PSG and Napoli in it). Did win the CL qualifier 10-1 on aggregate (was 7-0 in the home leg after 38 minutes).
