For a very good player of spin he looked very ordinary there, cutting balls that were way too close to him. Good bowling though.

I'm pleased we've fought back with the ball here, it shows good character.

Tbf only Cook and Sanga have more since Clarke's debut. He got dropped after the 05 Ashes and is a middle order player so hasn't had as many innings as Cook, and he doesn't average 63 like Sanga.

Just checked some stats: it's the middle order indeed. He has nearly as many tests as Cook, but far fewer innings.

Risk/reward against spinners like Bishoo. That Clarke played it like **** doesn't mean it's not a good idea in general to cut. Nail a few instead of Clarkeing them and Bishoo runs out of options to get you out or even stop the bleeding.
