of course the trouble with playing this way is even if Nzl score 400, at the rate they're going England will still have enough time to get them on a pitch which had rewarded stroke play.

Doesn't matter, you are 2-0 down in the series, better off giving the chance to create a result. Whatever result.

Crazy stat.

3rd time in history that a NZ opening pair has passed 50 twice each in the same series.

Dowling/Murray vs India in 1968
Richardson/Bell vs Pakistan in 2001
Guptill/Latham vs England in 2015

Another great session from both sides. Superb series this, shame it clashes with an Ashes series. Rather 5 Tests against these than those Indian shunts.

Bat till the end of today and I'm feeling confident.
Ah didn't realise we were so behind in overs from that session. 45 overs supposedly left to go today.

If we get that I'd say we'd be about 320ish.

Game still in the balance though, anything from 200-400 still possible for England to chase.

fuarkk game's even right now. Crucial partnership this.
Yeah. Need these two to settle in. Ronchi was immense in the first innings but wouldn't want to rely on him 2nd time around.

Probably Guptill's best test innings to date? Also, with a pair of 70's and two ducks the question marks remain, but he's gone better than Rutherford would have probably.

Rutherford wouldn't have scored 50 in total her.e

Watling doing the wicket keeper playing as an ultra-aggressive batsman much better than McCullum at the moment.
