The issue isn't whether it does, it's that it shouldn't.The fact that commentators talk bollox doesn't alter the fact that a century overrides a 50.

If that's your opinion you're welcome to it. My point was only that the fact the commentators make incorrect statements doesn't strengthen the statiscal argument. The issue isn't whether it does, it's that it shouldn't.
Who gives a ****Alright I tried, you're on your own OS.
Uh, no. The commentators aren't wrong when they say a batsman's got a fifty when he crosses the 50 milestone. Ever notice when a batsman gets to 50, they show his career stats and they add the current innings to his number of fifties? Are the stats guys talking bollocks too?If that's your opinion you're welcome to it. The stats are an historical record of what has happened up to that point in time and at that point in time they're correct. You can't have a factual record where one innings is counted twice.Uh, no. If it's just going to be overridden if the batsman has the gall to get to 100, why even record 50 as a milestone. It's all rather silly imo.
Oh really? Why then does Murali have 22 10-wicket matches and 67 5-wicket hauls?I don't see the 10wm overriding the 5wh. It's still counted twice. You can't have a factual record where one innings is counted twice.
Or when one innings is not counted because of a not out.... Wait.... Holy **** the average is all wrongggg!!The stats are an historical record of what has happened up to that point in time and at that point in time they're correct. You can't have a factual record where one innings is counted twice.
Don't be silly. One is per innings and the other is per match. They're separate stats.Oh really? Why then does Murali have 22 10-wicket matches and 67 5-wicket hauls?I don't see the 10wm overriding the 5wh. It's still counted twice.
Completely irrelevant. A batting average is the number of runs divided by the number of dismissals. The number of innings has nothing to do with it.Or when one innings is not counted because of a not out.... Wait.... Holy **** the average is all wrongggg!!
4wh and 5wh work the same way though.Oh really? Why then does Murali have 22 10-wicket matches and 67 5-wicket hauls?I don't see the 10wm overriding the 5wh. It's still counted twice.
Did you think I did not know that, or you just can't help yourself?Completely irrelevant. A batting average is the number of runs divided by the number of dismissals. The number of innings has nothing to do with it.
Oh I'd complain about that too if 4whs were actually widely recognized as a milestone. They aren't though.4wh and 5wh work the same way though.
I have my doubts.Did you think I did not know that, ?
Is this what you say to your clients??Alright I tried, you're on your own OS.
