Don't take the new ball, instead do something funky by throwing the ball to a rubbish part timer. Good to see Dhoni's tactics being kept alive in test cricket.

He honestly was on track to break every record...
No he wasn't. That is where the understanding of cricket counts more than mere number-crunching. Those who understand cricket knew that was just a purple patch that can't last for long. In the long term, class matters more than form.

And those who understand cricket also recognise that a slump doesn't always last forever either. It works both ways.

Now go and **** yourself.

Do you understand what "on track" means?

Yes, I do.

It is not simple arithmetic. Tendulkar scored 51 centuries in 200 matches. If one scores 6 centuries in 20 matches he is not 'on track' to break that record....similarly players with 12 centuries in 40 matches, or 17 centuries in 60 matches aren't either. Cricket doesn't work like that. Was Andy Gantaume on track to have a higher average than Bradman after 40 matches?

That's enough weldone for one day I think. cbf explaining why comparing Cook with philander is laughable.

Anyway, Cricinfo just said "Root has just popped a bill. Maybe for his back". Didn't know he has back issues... is it a long standing problem?
