If you get fined by the PCB it means you ARE a professional. Didn't you know that?

Even the most professional of sportsman have occasional misdemeanors - it's called being human. It shouldn't take away their professionalism "as a whole".
If that's in reference to Ponting, that is only one instance. I'd also cite such times as when he bumped into someone (Cam White from memory) and went berzerk at him - very unprofessional as a player, let alone a captain. Some would argue the catch at bat pad v India as well.

I'd put up Kane Williamson as a professional. Yes he hasn't scored a huge weight of runs yet but he has a hunger for the game, works as hard as anyone, never involved in any sort of controversy, can bat long periods of time and is a thinker of the game that will probably result in him becoming NZ captain one day.

I'd also put up Chris Martin. Again, not a world beater but squeezes every ounce of talent out of his body. Never injured, speaks very very well, and I would imagine is a positive influence on younger bowlers.

The ultimate pro I could think of would be Sir Richard. Just incredible training regime and dedication to the game that saw him playing up until he was 39.

What do you think about walking after nicking the ball? Does that make you any more or less of a professional?

Tredwell looks like the kind of guy who as captain you would never have to worry about for a second. Just knows his role so well and is probably aware of his limitations. (even though I think he's bloody good) No ego.

Would nominate Glen Turner as he was one of the most thoroughly professional cricketers of all time, but then I noticed the OP says "no overt assholes" so I guess that's a bit of a deal killer.
