May have been posted at the time but wow that was a lot of turn for English conditions, late season or not, and lovely bowling.
This team is better and I would be disapointed if we lost either the test or ODI series.I'm recalling the 1999 series where no one expected Nzl to win that one. Good times.
Think you're underestimating England as a test side at home - especially in the early summer. Admittedly there's a chance we'll catch them while they're rapped up in internal turmoil and uncertainty (as SRL did last summer), but if they turn up then I think they'll win the tests (don't forget how effortlessly they brushed aside India once they got into a rhythm last summer). This team is better and I would be disapointed if we lost either the test or ODI series.
Sure, I am not saying it is a given and it will be a hard series but I will still be disappointed if we lost.Think you're underestimating England as a test side at home - especially in the early summer. true.In England's favour is the shortness of the Test series. A longer one and New Zealand would be favourites, but as it is, there's more than enough going for England to get the chocolates.
The fact that 2/3rds of the side is turning up only 48 hours before the coin toss won't help either.true.
Indeed - that was my logic behind the one word answer i gave. That and the fact that traditionally we don't perform optimally in the first test of a series anyway. The fact that 2/3rds of the side is turning up only 48 hours before the coin toss won't help either.
I guess the biggest reason for not believing we will win is that we essentially have the same team that got trounced over their last time. And that trouncing was after our upturn in fortunes as we had just finished putting in a credible performance against England at home.lies, you are all quietly confident.
