Yeah seemed to disappear after a decent tour to Australia a few years ago, guess his batting was never really good enough to bat at 7 and he slowly fell out of favour as a specialist bowler with Kula essentially taking on the bowling all-rounder role and Thisara developing as a specialist.

The fact that Sanga has 24 ODI hundreds despite playing over 370 innings just goes to show how much he underachieved for the majority of his career, good to see him end his career with statistics that reflect the kind of batsmen he is. Haven't seen someone evolve their batting so much since Tendulkar

The fact that Sanga has 24 ODI hundreds despite playing over 370 innings just goes to show how much he underachieved for the majority of his career, good to see him end his career with statistics that reflect the kind of batsmen he is. Haven't seen someone evolve their batting so much since Tendulkar

He just had trouble converting in ODIs early in his career.. 94 fifties just behind Sachin even though he's played 45 less games.

That said, Sachin clearly had the better ODI careeer.

Honestly teams should try that more, half-trackers and full-tosses have a good chance of getting Sanga out when he's 50+. Probably got out that way 5-10 times in 2014 alone.
