It's nothing new really, he's been excellent for ages now.

Just realised he has 5 4-fers and 5 5-fers in just 36 innings. That's just ****ing insane.
His death bowling and the accuracy with which he delivers the yorkers now has gone up a notch.

IPL may be not be the best platform to judge i know, but he was dog****e for RCB in terms of death bowling. We could've won many games had he fired.Just saying btw.

It's been said before, but Starc is about as close to Wasim Akram as it's possible to be.
Honestly don't think so, unless you just mean that they're both awesome left-armers. Very different styles & actions.

If anyone's bowling reminds me of Akram, it's actually probably Trent Boult, with his quick arm action. And I wouldn't necessarily say they're that similar.

Starc looks unplayable right now..Almost as much as Malinga was unplayable a few yrs ago.
McCullum showed the way to do it - get down/across the crease, get in his head. Harder said than done at 150 clicks...but anyone who stays in their crease is going to find the going real tough.

Starc just might prove to be the trump card at this World Cup.

You know, I really respected bailey saying "You think this pitch is a beauty?" after a match where both sides made 360 during the Australian ODI tour to india.
It is refreshing to see someone say it as it is. Doesn't happen often. Not likely to see a home captain slag off a pitch though in all honesty.

Are you really going to call this wicket beautiful clarkey?

****ing really?
Yeah, it's these type of comments that encourages the roads in Australia that we have been seeing since the Indian series. Not enough people are speaking out on it.

Really hoping this trend stops in the knockouts.

Crazy to think that Jason Gillespie and Simon Jones played in the same Ashes series and there's only 3 years between them; Simon looks like he could still be playing international cricket and Jason looks like the dad who coaches the u-13s

Agree, need to throw him off his rhythm & force him to try something different. As you say, easier said than done.

Needs to be batsmen with really quick feet, hands & eyes, like de Villiers, Smith or McCullum.

I'd be fascinated to see if AB would rate himself to play from the crease as he so often does or whether he'd end up approaching it more McCullum-style.

I didn't mean the style or action, just the effect, i.e. 150km/h yorkers bowled from a serious height with vicious swing and the accuracy of a stealth bomber.

Bit harsh calling the county champions the under 13's. I know Root looks young but steady on.

I don't think wasim akram can really compare height-wise to starc. Dude is a giant.

Which is kinda what makes him so frustrating with the red ball. With the amount of natural attributes and sheer natural ability he has, he really should be a beast in any form.

That was one of the great moments of this WC

McCullum advancing down the pitch to Starc

A WTF is he doing moment. :)

AB is much more likely to attempt the paddle sweep or ramp than what McCullum does. Doesn't have quite the same fast hands which you sort of need to hit over cover point like he does.

Don't think Sri Lanka should be unduly disappointed about losing this game.

I actually think they are in witha decent chance against SA in their quarter final At Adelaide Oval. Adelaide is the most subcontinental of all Australia's grounds ~ SL should be in with a real shot.

Think its at the MCG if i'm not mistaken..(B2 VS A3 at MCG)

And Australia will likely play Pakistan at Adelaide Oval.Coming to that game, would anyone fancy playing Yasir Shah there ? Think he would be a good option considering its Adelaide but its hard to drop any one of their fast bowlers tho..All 3 of them are bowling well.
