If anything I'd used that 'firing into the leg stump theory' later in the innings, not in the first 10 overs. Take genuine wicket taking options out of play.

He's overrated in the sense that he doesn't often fire properly yet people tend to forget the gulf between his best and his average but when he's firing he is truly a matchwinner

Malinga's obviously been one bowler who was affected considerably by the 2 new balls rule considering he relied a lot on reverse swing. Still a threat though if he gets going for sure.

This is the sort of thing that happened in the recent SL/NZ series. Mathews would suddenly & inexplicably adopt a strange field/bowling change that gifts runs whilst minimising the chance to get wickets.

Yea but his T20 exploits don't translate as well in ODIs.. he's overrated in ODIs similar to how Gayle is. Not as good as you might think.
