Amazing.
He's forcing the batsmen onto the backfoot with his extreme pace. What is AB doing dropping it short like that? These are gimme deliveries.
Was just about to post that. Genius."De Villier can bat, ball, wicketkeep, field. Is anything he can no do?" Waqar say.

Amazing.
I watched very carefully when NZ toured the UAE, & while there are some talented young batsmen going around, I didn't see anything any more special than talent coming through from the likes of England or the Windies for example. Contra said that as if all this amazing potential is about to be unleashed...when outside Akmal (who I'm not sure will ever reach his potential), I don't see it.Umar Khatmal is pretty talented. So is sohaib maqsood.
When I see them bat I can see that with good infrastructure and mentoring these guys probably can do very well much more so than probably your ashrafuls and the tamims.
haha. Seriously that was an atrocious stroke. Trying to flick the ball on leg side way away from body with the hands held high on the handle."De Villier can bat, ball, wicketkeep, field. Is anything he can no do?" Waqar say.

Agree, would say all three countries are producing decent cricketers but nothing more with maybe each having a high potential talent (Root, Akmal, Darren Bravo). Might put Buttler in there as well. .I watched very carefully when NZ toured the UAE, & while there are some talented young batsmen going around, I didn't see anything any more special than talent coming through from the likes of England or the Windies for example. You do see Akmal's potential but probably haven't seen much of Maqsood to comment. Also if 2 batsmen can be developed to be world class that is pretty good for a side.I watched very carefully when NZ toured the UAE, & while there are some talented young batsmen going around, I didn't see anything any more special than talent coming through from the likes of England or the Windies for example. It's pretty dark here, they've got the lights onGetting pretty cloudy at Ellerslie now...
That's because talent isn't everything (Rohit Sharma being the biggest example from India), why would I want to swap players who are currently inferior but have the potential to become a lot better? Pakistani bats need to be more consistent, and if they worked on things like batting temperament, match situation awareness, running between wickets and strike rotation they can produce the kind of results India currently are. West Indies are in the same boat and their batsmen need to work on the same set of skills. It's a little unfortunate that guys like Robin and Suresh Raina can hire personal coaches by paying money to work on their techniques and games while Pak players make enough to get by a reasonable living.Just seems a little pointless to talk about their great batting talent and compare it with India's as being a really close thing. Yet when confronted with the hypothetical question of who would replace from the India line-up, you can't even name one. I mean we might as well say the same about Bangladesh's talent while we're there..
Root has to have shown more promise than any Pakistani batsmen surely? Buttler has to be up there with them as well. You do see Akmal's potential but probably haven't seen much of Maqsood to comment. Also if 2 batsmen can be developed to be world class that is pretty good for a side.
And as contra (and myself) said earlier that temperament is another matter so the potential might never be utilized.
And which of England's batsman show you great promise? I would be interested in knowing. I haven't followed them too much.
well, there goes potential down the drainPrecisely
Rain's probably not far away now. But hopefully it'll blow through quickly. It's pretty dark here, they've got the lights on
