***Official English Domestic Off Season 2014-2015***

Ballanc doesnt have a central? Or they're just banking him in to get one for the forthcoming season?
Ballance is on central Plunkett's got an incremental one.

Not been confirmed yet I don't think but nearly certain that Pakistan will play Lanka in a series this summer as they always do.
Goddamnit Sri Lanka, still we get Williamson at the back end so there's that.

The Ireland England ODI on 8th May is looking pretty preposterous right now. Morgan and Bopara are allowed to play the whole IPL so they'll miss the game. Test tour in West Indies ends only a couple of days earlier (+ NZ test series starts soon after) so can't see anyone from that squad been included.
Tbf in the case of the ODI missing people the only real issue is that it devalues the contest itself, us missing the people isn't too much of an issue given by that point we'll be building to the next WC which a fair few of the players in the current ODI set up aren't likely to be playing in.

Handscomb (Glos), Sammy (Notts), Corey Anderson (Somerset) all signed on today as overseas players for bits of the season.

Rory Hamilton Brown retired a few days ago at 27 because of a wrist injury which is a shame. Was at one point a decent england prospect in the shorter formats.

Season getting closer. Some of the counties going overseas in the next week or two for tours.

Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson added: "It is brilliant for the club to get Peter for the season.
The 23-year-old was born in Melbourne but also holds a British passport through his English parents.

Handscomb has joined for the whole season according to BBC,under an English passport.
I think he's sharing overseas duties with Klinger. His English passport means he doesn't need a work permit but he'll still be an overseas player as far as I can tell.

The ECB rules are 1 overseas player per county Klinger will be their 4 months,Handscomb will play under a British passport.ie why he can play the whole year.

You can only play 1 overseas player at a time in the championship or 50 over or 2 in the T20. You can have multiple overseas players signed at the same time. He's classified as an overseas player.

Fairly sure he'll play at the start and the end of the season in the championship when Klinger isn't there. He hasn't renounced his Australian nationality to play for England as far as I can tell.

Glos have just signed him because he is probably cheap and has an English passport (so he doesn't need to have played however many games for aus in the last few years to get a work permit) to cover for Klinger.

He is playing the full season,so he must have renounced Australia, can't have 2.

He just following Cooper,Csogrove and i am sure they have paid a pretty penny to renounce his Australianess.

'Gloucestershire Cricket will have both centurions from this year’s Big Bash League (BBL) in their ranks this season after signing hard-hitting batsman Peter Handscomb as their second overseas player for 2015.'

“He will bring positive competition for the batting spots and new ideas from his experiences in Australia. It is a good opportunity for him to showcase his talents in English conditions – especially with Australia over here for the Ashes and we believe we can help him to continue his development.”

Doesn't sound like someone who is giving up their Australian passport to play for England.

'He is available for the whole season and will provide cover in four-day cricket while Klinger is absent in April, May and September.' From the Bristol Post.

He'll most likely play second team cricket whilst Klinger is here and the t20's on friday. He's sharing overseas duties with Klinger. Same as Philander and Hilfenhaus in the championship with Notts.

Yeah, it's exactly this. It doesn't fit with brockley's hobby-horse complaint of England hoovering up all young overseas talent though, so I'm not surprised that he creatively reinterpreted it to fit his preexisting biases.

Assuming c00ps is playing as a local under his Netherlands passport (no idea if he is, but whatever), Somerset still look really, really light on batting -- especially with Kieswetter ruling himself out of the season IIRC.

They're gonna have to engine room it with all the all-rounders they've got stacked in their squad -- Allenby, Trego, Gregory, Overton, Davey etc.

Guess it will be something like:

Tres
Myburgh
Cooper
Hildreth
Allenby
Barrow WK
Trego
Gregory
Coverton
Rehman
Groenewald

Thomas and Joverton around abouts too.

It does look a lot of similar type seamers in the side, maybe lose one for Abell or Jones.
