First week thoughts

I'd say my 2 favourite matches were UAE-Zimbabwe & NZ-England.

Maybe India-Pakistan just because of Pakpassion.

They knew people would be busy with Chinese New Year celebrations so they had to keep it to just one a weekday.

Why don't they have 3-4 games every day? Would make so much more sense.
Because then the broadcasting rights would only be worth a tiny fraction of what they are now.

From a selfish perspective I'd much rather go the other way. I always feel completely ripped off when I have to choose between two games on at the same time. I want to watch the whole thing, goddamnit.

Yeah, me too. It only happens once every four years and I want to make the most of it.

Been a good WC.

NZ and Aus look brilliant. Ireland look seriously good. England, WI and Pak have been shambles. India look like they are rising to the big occasion, didn't see enough of Sri Lanka, and South Africa are starting steadily. Zimbabwe and BD impressing.

Should be an interesting few weeks. Can definitely see atleast one, if not a few, of the big 8 missing out on the Quarters.

It would be nice to have a game where the result was in the balance going into the last 10-15 overs. :@

With Scotland's bowlers (plus Dockrell) and Ireland's top order, you'd have the makings of a very good side. Was very impressed with the seamer who took 3 v NZ.

Gary Williams' innings the other day worth an honorary mention, that was top class under pressure.

Can't believe catch of the tournament has been anyone but Steve Smith. That grab v England was other-worldly.

So ironic how everyone complained about minnows producing blowout games, when even Scotland and UAE have done a decent job, compared to England/Pakistan

Don't know if the BCs have peaked, they look a very good side at the moment but it's still fairly recently that it all started to click.

It would suck after all this hype, though, if we got wiped out by Ireland in the QFs.

Its been good so far.Teams have been rewarded with both good batting and quality fast bowling as opposed to seeing matches where you had to just outbat teams from the game.Obviously the big games havent turned out to be as close as people expected it to be but i am really looking forward to the coming week's games especially the clash involving the two hosts.Probably gonna be the game of the group stages.
