1st Match - New Zealand v Sri Lanka

viriya

International Captain
Matthews is the first bowler to get any real movement today. Kula was totally gun-barrel which makes me a bit worried about boult since he's quite similar (obviously a couple of yards quicker though)
He just underrates himself massively. Should be bowling 10 overs every single game.

It is way too central as well.

What are your watching plans for this? You going all the way through?

Got work at 12 so this is not really an option for me.
Going to watch all of tonight but for the whole thing I don't really know. Might have to chose a few matches here and there to give a miss and try to catch up on sleep at weird times the rest of the time. For tomorrow thinking maybe go to sleep early evening and wake up at 1am for SA v Zim and India v Pakistan, then there aren't really any big games for a few days so I wouldn't necessarily bother watching all of them.

His test best of 170-odd against India was apparently a rapid one. Indian fans from that era recall it pretty well.
Yeah I remember that innings well, was down the Taieri Gorge listening to it on the radio,
