***Official*** India in Australia 2014-5

Wonderful knock from Rogers though, had thought against such spin he'd have gone for a paltry score but managed to scrap and put his team in a great position.

Need a target of 350+ by max and hour into tomorrow. Possibly overnight declaration as well.

I'm going to put money on India if the target is less than 320 - on this wicket, against this attack.

McGrath talking about how ridiculous the pitch conditions are.

Although he did pick up 10 wickets in the game they did that in :P
Haha, indeed. Worked for that game with the pitch being a dustbowl and helped the team balance immensely, but it was never a long-term option and he rightfully lived and died at Test level on the basis of his batting. And then never got a chance to come back into the side to prove that he actually could do it.

Love me some Bevo, WAFG.

Yeah, I'd have had him play more test cricket for Australia. I think the perceived weakness against the short ball had been eradicated nearer the end of his career when he was being Bradman at first class level. But that was the era that you needed to convert your first chance because you may never get another.

Ridiculous amount of talent around for Australia at that time.

Good team man, trying to do something he just doesn't have up his sleeve.

Set a record - 6 consecutive 50s for an Australian opening batsman in a series.
Flattered by the pitches, obvs (as all batsmen have this series) and a poor Indian attack, but he's certainly played his role extremely well. With our middle order filled with guys who give away starts (Watson, Smarsh) or are inexperienced (Burns, MMarsh), we needed him to do something like that to set up the innings.

Good thing Kohli did that in front of the members; the other end of the ground would have crucified him for that.

Definitely booked his ticket to England..

If Clarke is back by then it'll be interesting to see what they do about Watson, would Smith go to 3?

Never understood why people nowadays try to step on the ball to stop it. Prime candidate for injuring yourself.

Other issue being that he was so, so good in ODIs that he'd never have lived up to expectations if he played Tests again.

Thoughts on Ian Harvey? Let's see how much we agree when it comes to rating fringe Australian players from the mid-90s :p
