Interesting to note Thirimanne and Chandimal are the two guys in the slips, slip catching was another thing I thought we'd really miss without Mahela or Sanga, dare I say it but we might just be in safe hands now

While I don't think we're anywhere near that yet, we give Watling lots of praise for his 'gritty' innings i.e. in the UAE, yet he only averaged 20 there. Being slow and solid is useful for partnerships in this side with a lot of strokemakers, but it's been a little while since he scored serious runs.
