From the BBC:

Cesc Fabregas collected his 13th assist of the campaign against Southampton, setting a new record for most assists in a player's first 18 games of a season. This also equalled the most assists by a player in the 2013-14 season
Sigh.

This talk of Pardew to Palace is a bit odd. He must think his days at Newcastle are well and truly numbered if jumping ship to Palace is an attractive option.

Must be the lure of going somewhere the fans are (presumably) fond of him versus somewhere he's despised. Maybe he wants to go back to London too.

He's on too big of a contract to go to Palace.

edit: unless someone buys him out why would he leave that much money on the table.

Genuinely think Ashley will waive most of the contract fee if Palace want him. Or someone will do a collection at the next home game.

Ashley could do with Pardew going to win back the fans (well, a little), Pardew would benefit from having a crowd that support him, and a squad he can galvanise (he's far better as a 'backs against the wall' manager than leading a team to success). The best solution for all is a club taking him off Newcastles hands, because the contract makes it impossible for him to be sacked or walk.

He's just deflecting attention away from a poor result, same as Ferguson used to do. As Sledger says it is boring and the more people get outraged by it the more it plays into his hands. It always amuses me how people get outraged by it again and again and again when that is the whole idea of it.
