"10 Tests could have been 60 Tests for Shaun Marsh if he hadn't been injured all the time."

Nothing to do with averaging 3 in a series then?

That's the weird thing about Starc though. You'll watch him sort of just floating it up then look at the speed gun and go "...really?"
that's more to do with his total lack of consistent line and length. 140kph half volleys won't ever look very troubling.

I also feel like his beautiful effortless action is somewhat of a double edged sword as batsmen seem to find him very easy to pick up out of the hand, as opposed to his evil twin in Johnson despite them being the same pace.

Nah it's not that. If he's not swinging it he just seems to look really, really floaty. Definitely the floatiest 145kph bowler I've seen.

Starcs action is just so pure he doesn't look like he's trying which is why the speed gun looks wrong.

Yeah, Johnson and Starc bowling the same line/length at same pace and Johnson just looks quicker to the eye.

I think there's slightly more too it than that though. His run up and action seems really relaxed. He can bowl balls that seem quick, like that bouncer just then, but it still looks like he could probably charge in and give it a bit more.

Johnson's action definitely has a bit to do with that, a number of batsmen have commented that even beyond his pace Johnson is particularly hard to pick up.

We'll see the real face of Indian middle order after this opening stand...When did we have a 45-run opening partnership last time?

My theory for this is that his action is very easy to read out of the hand compared to a guy like johnson because of how smoothly his arm accelerates.

It's likely that putting too much effort in totally throws out his rhythm, this might be his optimal level.

Yeah, I think it's more of an illusion that he looks like he could put more into it, rather than him being able to do it like that.
