Shakib WAFG.

Much better performance from BD. If they keep this up on the third test, it will be a huge confidence boost. Just what the side needed after the year they have had.

I agree with Mushy playing as a specialist batsman. Mahmudullah and Nasir are being criminally underbowled, and Mominul can bowl too. Plus there must be a better keeper somewhere in BD. Mushy isn't bad but isn't great either.

Also, i'm surprised Al Amin got cleared too. Makes me doubt the reliability of the ICC tests if anything. But that's a discussion for another thread.

Hope Bangladesh don't whitewash Zim here... these two tests have been really close, actually, and a 3-0 wouldn't do justice at all to the gap between the sides.

162 run win is not close at all but the first test was and could've gone either way. Don't forget Hamilton the batsman that scored 150+ was dropped twice and Zimbabwe should've been bowled out for a lot less.

But what Shakib did was an extraordinary feat. Scoring a 100 and taking 5 wickets in an innings is rare but a 100 and 10 wickets in a match is super rare. The last time that has been done was 31 years ago and I was not even close to being born yet. Only 2 players have achieved this feat and they are Ian Botham and Imran Khan. You could say it was against Zimbabwe but how many players have even achieved such a feat even if it was against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh? answer is zero. The guy has only played 36 test matches and is making history.

Dafuq? Match was evenly poised for 4 and a half days. Dropping masakadza is rubbish cricket from Bangladesh, which is irrelevant to the point I'm making.

Waller who took I think 6 wickets in that match where 2 scalps are of Shakib has been reported for a suspect action. So technically margin of defeat should've been even more. It keeps getting worse for Zimbabwe.

Seems CW got that action right.

I'm interested that Al-Amin was passed though. I don't see a lot of these players, but it's interesting that the new system can pass people with dodgy-looking actions. Gives it more veracity for me.

Oh and Shakib WAG, thought his bowling had gone a bit, but maybe he needed a rest, and the Banglas cleverly gave him one.....

*Shakib is cranky and not playing well, as BD lose yet another series. The BCB approaches him...*

"Shakib, you need to rest..."
"NO! I want to keep playing!"
"But your bowling arm, look how tired it is, and your batting isn't quite clicking..."
"I WANT TO KEEP PLAYING YOU CAN'T DROP ME!"
"OKAY! THAT'S IT! YOU ARE SUSPENDED FOR 6 MONTHS!"
"I HATE YOU!"
"I HATE YOU TOO!"

*Shakib slams door and locks himself in his room*

*A few months later the BCB comes knocking*

"Hey, Shakib...look, I'm sorry about what I said. If you want to play, you can play. Zimbabwe are visiting in a couple of weeks, so..."
"YAAAAYYY!"

*Shakib proceeds to set new records against Zimbabwe as BD win*

Good parenting IMO.

If Shakib gets another 100 and 5 wickets in an innings in his career which looks very likely then he will automatically be 2nd of all time behind Botham who has a staggering 5. The likes of Kapil and Hadlee has not even achieved this even once. Even today all-rounders like Jadeja, Hafeez, Yuvraj, Bravo, Matthews, Broad, Philander, Johnson, Vettori etc cannot achieve this once yet.

Pitch is good for batting but still Zimbabwe I feel gave away 50 runs too many. Their bowling was poor and fielding was lacklustre. They also made a mistake of going with too many pacers as generally they are pretty much useless in Chittagong. I still think Zimbabwe should be good enough to post big but realistically cannot see them getting anything close to 500 which Bangladesh looks likely to make. A lead of 100 is a massive advantage to Bangladesh otherwise it will be a draw. No way Zimbabwe will win this especially considering the fact Bangladesh drew their last 2 tests against Sri Lanka and New Zealand on this very ground. The wickets today were thrown away by Bangladesh batsman and that's one of the reasons why they have generally lost to the better teams. If only Bangladesh batsman value their wickets then they would've got more draws then they already have.

Ah was wondering why Waller wasn't playing this match.

I just can't follow this like I should because I'm still infuriated by Williams not playing. Top 2 bat for Zimbabwe and these days arguably their best bowling option as well, especially in Asia. So frustrating.

That has been the main difference between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh supporters. Zimbabwe fans complain of some of their players missing but Bangladesh fans who are missing Mashrafe, Nasir, Anamul, Abul, Naeem not once complaining of them etc

Is it some excuse to cover Zimbabwe's losses/struggles or something? :)
