Sachin doesn't need to create any controversy to make his book sell, nor would the money earned from it mean much to him,
Going after Greg and others can be harmful and backfire, the kind of image which he has had for years would be at stake. Don't think he would stir such controversies for no reason.

To all the posters who are raising the ball tampering issue and not replying when someone gives a proper reasoning as to why Sachin wasn't guilty. Please go through the whole incident before commenting. In fact there is clear reasoning in this thread itself which indicates that Sachin wasn't guilty.

And talking about the Monkeygate incident. There was no evidence which proved whether Harbhajan used a racial slur. Please stop behaving as if the whole incident was crystal clear.
The "so-called" Indian posters on CW and some of the others are just trying to attack Sachin for no reason. The things mentioned in the biography describe his point of view, he might be right or wrong, but just attacking him in every possible way is not correct.

I still remember the 2 wickets that Harbhajan took in the VB series final (I think that was the 2nd final IIRC) were of Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds. That was a blissful feeling TBH, not the least because of Sachin's sublime innings in both the finals and in Perth & Adelaide.

Back in 2008, nearly every Indian and Pakistani knew that Bhajji must have said 'Teri maa ki chut' and nothing related to monkey though. It seems the Aussie players behaved more sensitively in this matter than the Indians.

Tbf, if one choose to believe Bhaji's account, then it wouldn't be a celebration of a racist taking his victim's wicket, but rather sweet vindication for someone falsely accused.

My memory is hazy on the subject. Can someone remind if the racist "monkey" term had been hurled at Symonds before the Sydney Test? I know in the subsequent tour to India, Symonds was subjected to despicable racist abuse by some in the crowd, but did he ever deal with it prior to Sydney in any fashion that was publicized in the media?

Wasn't the defence that Symonds misheard, rather than fabricated? In which case it's still not right to hold it against him, IMO.

It should be pretty obvious that Harbhajan's (and Sachin's) account would be very difficult for an Australian (or rather any non-subcontinent origin person) to believe.

You have to be able to associate with the culture that is everyday Punjab. Not saying their version is true, but knowing the Punjabi culture and the context of the situation, and knowing how hardcore a Punjabi Harbhajan seems to be, to me it seems far more likely that he said "Teri Maa Ki.."

I wouldn't put it beyond Harbhajan to say it. He's a **** of the highest order.

Now I don't know if he did say the m word, but if he did, then whichever Indian teammate came up with the 'teri maa ki' out needs to be given a medal. Such a brilliantly believable excuse, which honestly, could've totally happened. I like to think it was Sehwag who did it. No one else epic enough to think that up.
