Yes and no. He's certainly been helped by the selectors figuring out that he's a batsman, but I think Smith's just actually now producing results as opposed to having worked massively hard on his game.

The icc rankings lag a lot because cricket because of the focus on series.

I didn't know it was possible to ever have faith in Pak cricket. You know you're at your lowest ebb when you have guys like Shehzad in the team telling other players to "Be ready for the fire".
