Nicely balanced squad. It's just a shame the talent is wafer thin.

Almost as much as the Real fans will enjoy us playing Gerrard as a DM against them, I suspect.

Gerrard was class in that role right up to the Chelsea game wasn't he?

With the ball he's pretty much perfect for it. But his positioning isn't great and he doesn't really have the legs to cover for that either. Against most teams it's fine but when you come up against the likes of Silva & Nasri recently or against James, Ronaldo & Bale then it often gets really badly exposed.
