Interesting article. Kid decides not to bowl darts and makes national team. Probably tells us he will be terrible in ODIs - not that we want him since we have NMac.
I wonder how often this happens. I can understand club captains need to win but I hope the proliferation of darters hasn't been encouraged by what club cricket needs.Kippax said:Branks sat down with Craig, after his bowler had been clouted, and asked him if he would consider bowling more defensively for the remainder of the tournament.
I have a theory that all other factors being equal the person with the funky name gets picked for the rep side ahead of some guy called John Smith. It helps with the hype,Xavier Marshall, there's a blast from the past. Whatever happened to him Beamer?
Nah there's a lot of panache and aesthetic value in the spinners coming through, Phlegm. You'll turn away from your horses Lastic and Hickstead to watch some Plunket Shield spin, any day now.I wonder how often this happens. Barath remains a gut wrenching disappointment. He became too big for his boots after debut success and earning quick money playing CLT20 and IPL. He stopped working at his game and took it for granted so he didn't correct things that were exposed by test level bowlers, even though he clearly has all the talent in the World. Apparently he worked really hard in the nets this year, which is a start, but the runs didn't flow and he was dropped from the T & T side.I just hope people will give him 4-5 tests before passing judgement. Some posters (not naming names) fell in love with Barath after his single century in Aussie. And this kid could easily get a ton on debut. We don't know who he is and won't know how to bowl to him. Cricket these days is all about plans.
He likes the herb Flem. Another huge talent wasted, So many people tried to help him but he was a hard headed youngster. It is a crying shame that we can't develop God given talent like that but I guess it is also down to the individual and unfortunately Xavier has always been hanging around with the wrong crowd.Xavier Marshall, there's a blast from the past. Windies team for 2nd Test to be named soon. Stay tuned

Unfortunately I agree. Really hoped he would be the answer and had so much talent. The technique 5 though is lacking at Test level.Nah Powell has to go. He's just another 20-30 averaging opener, one last chance or not.
