If I get the last guy I really want I'll be surprised, but I can only hope!

AldoRaine18

State Vice-Captain
I pick Clem Hill.

An attacking and effective batsman from what I read about him, in the matches with complete records of balls faced, his test strike rate is among the 80s. In the other games you can judge from the number of minutes he spent on the pitch that he could score quickly when needed and was an attractive stroke player with a strong bottom hand, precise timing and placement. I'll use him as an opener, although he came in at number 3 I think he would be good in this role, specially in the LOIs.

To add to that he was also known to be a brilliant fielder.

With that, this is my batting order :

1. Haynes
2. Hill
3. Ponting
4. Kallis
5. S Waugh
6. A Flower
7. Klusener

Do people accept hill as a test opener? Would love to hear some feedback.

Many believed Hill to be Trumper's superior as a batsman. He never opened, but I can't see why he wouldn't be successful there, esp in LOs

Messes up my plans but too great a player to leave on the board.

Gotta tidy up that lower order I reckon Harsh. A late career Roberts was actually pretty handy with the bat. Also, Steyn above Underwood perhaps, despite Underwood's occasional nightwatchman duties.

Camo999

State 12th Man
I'll go for Darren Gough. Good in all formats. I recall him being something of a limited overs specialist towards the end of his international career. And he had a very good T20 against Australia in 2005.

Looks like that you have another eclectic and facinating team happening Camo - similar to the Decade Draft.

If you wanted him that much you wouldn't have waited until Round 9. :p
Figured he was safe to push off/wanted the bowling unit set first.

He was a slow List A batsman and has no T20 record (obvs), plus wasn't exactly a standout opener. I hoped he'd slip until next round. Oh well, I've worked out a replacement already :p
