Wait, are all USyd players students/alumni? Hasn't a been a rule like that for many years in SA with Adelaide Uni, be surprised if it's still a thing.

He was out due to a close friends wedding.

He's been batting 5 all year and doing a fair bit of bowling as well.

Anyway well done Sydney Uni; low scoring seems the way to go in grand finals.

they have a uni scholarship system though which gets and keeps loads of young players.

pretty much the reason everyone hates sydney uni in just about every sport they're involved in, sydney club rugby being the best example of it. other clubs just can't compete when they can offer something no one else can

Isn't that offset by having no juniors, though? Not to mention for a couple of rounds/year, you lose players to exams.

Carters a bit stiff to not even make the prelim squad. Doubly so seeing as Hughes is the only specialist opener selected.

they've basically picked half of the regular players in the shield so yeah carters is unlucky
