He's as good as any quick ever, no doubt. Incredible skills.Recently come around to your view of rating him extremely highly. Was either him or akram
What's the irony? Is it the underarm incident?Sorry for being predictable, but I quite like the irony of having both Chappell and Hadlee in the same team - Greg Chappell (born 1948)
nah fully justifiable going for Chappell once again, easily the best batsmen remaining when you picked.Sorry for being predictable, but I quite like the irony of having both Chappell and Hadlee in the same team - Greg Chappell (born 1948)
Paddles, who is normally a perfect gentlemen has never said a good word about any of the Chappell's personas ever and is fully justified for those opinions. Its not just the underarm incident either, they established the present of not having a beer in the changing room after the game. Pretty much every chapter of every book he has written which regards Australia will have something bad to say about the Chappells. What's the irony? Is it the underarm incident?
Wow. Didn't know that. So one chappel has a beef with Botham and other with Hadlee.Paddles, who is normally a perfect gentlemen has never said a good word about any of the Chappell's personas ever and is fully justified for those opinions.
Wouldn't say 'easily' ohnoitsyou. It was a difficult choice between Chappell and quite a few other batsman that I like.nah fully justifiable going for Chappell once again, easily the best batsmen remaining when you picked.
I think the beef is more with New Zealand in general. Australia really didn't rate us at all and ending up second best so many times during that period let to a lot of ugliness.Wow. Didn't know that. So one chappel has a beef with Botham and other with Hadlee.
And Holding castling the stumps with his right boot. The end result was probably NZs best ever win at home, with Hadlee taking 19 wickets at 19 runs a piece for the series. Viv Richards didn't tour though from memory, but all the other ATGs were there.I think the beef is more with New Zealand in general. WI were exactly the same in 79/80 after losing 1-0 and over reacted to a few poor umpiring decisions, culminating with Colin Croft shoulder barging an umpire.
After that series he averaged under 20 for his last 60 games. A pox on your house watson. That's why I love Hadlee
Definitely. Would be interested to know how you rate him compared to Davidson? He's as good as any quick ever, no doubt. Incredible skills.
Very different, but both great. Difficult to rate one over the other with any real rationale. Personally, I think that McGrath, Lillee, Davidson and Lindwall are Australia's four greatest quicks of all time (discounting pre WW1 guys).Definitely. Would be interested to know how you rate him compared to Davidson?
