I font blame Ashwin at all. He deceived him in both those deliveries and it hot nowhere near the middle. Man, **** ODIs. Hate them. Rewards pathetic slogged mis-hits at the death. Ground was barely 70 m too

Dunno how you can day that last ball was good death bowling. And he didn't keep junaid on strike.

It wasn't good at all, and no, Ashwin is no Ajmal. I was just saying that regardless of the quality of the ball, Afridi was deceived by both those balls and just slogged blindly. If he'd hit it somewhere close to the middle I'd have said well done. He just got lucky, that's all.
Props to him for saving the slog till the end though, I didn't expect that from him.

Will be 2007 all over again imo. Rohit, Bhuvi, Ashwin will probably take the fall and never play ODI cricket for India again. If Bhuvi lasts till then that is. Have a feeling Mishra is going to find himmself in the WC squad though. Maybe instead of Ash. Then the old leggie could be the scapegoat.

Ground was the same size for both teams etc. India had only themselves to blame for letting the game get to a point where a couple of mis-hits could decide it.

Was impressed by Kohli's captaincy this game. That and Mishra were good points for India.
Small boundaries are very lame, Afridi would've been out for both of those shots in the 90s, but same for either side etc etc

Yeah, the winning hit had me fooled me too. Was pretty much the reverse of Misbah's infamous dab to Sreesanth in the first T20 WC which I thought was a sure boundary.

I'm not saying it's unfair that Pakistan won, far from it. They deserved it. Just stating that's why I harte ODIs at the moment. It's a lottery at the death, way too often. The risk vs rewards of slogging with your eyes closed is too heavily in favour of the slogged. 65m boundaries ffs. All 3 of Afridi's sixes at the end were nowhere close to being good hits

The MCC should just get with it and rule that boundary ropes should be no more than a metre within the advertising boards. The game got on pretty fine for 100+ years before the boundary loving advertisers got the cricket boards to go along with the excuse that fielders need to be protected from their lack of awareness of their surroundings.

And a ****ing leading edge going for a six is ****ing bull****. Only really bad ball of the last over was that ball to Junaid. Should have bowled middle and off to him with lots of fielders close in saving singles. Would have been run out or would have skied one for sure. Doesn't have Afridi's strength to send mis-hits that far.
