The way Hendricks is bowling, it seems hard to leave him out for much longer. Left armer as well, isn't he?

Something like:
1. Smith
2. Petersen
3. Amla
4. du Plessis
5. de Villiers
6. Duminy/Rossouw/van Zyl/Elgar
7. Peterson/Harmer
8. Philander
9. Steyn
10. Morkel
11. Hendricks
Yes he is left handed

Robbie P. 2 overs 2 maidens 0 runs 2 wickets.

A better batsman and bowler than duminy.

If we are going to select a batsman that bowls a bit then robbie p is a much better prospect than Duminy. Robbie p and philander at 7 and 8 or even at 8 and 9 with dale at ten is damn impressive.

All things said about tsolikele, he should play this series considering ab just had the op on his hand. so he can cover 7 or maybe 8 for now really hope he can be that fighting batsmen. one of our successes has been that when our top order fails our tail can put up resistence, thami needs to shine in this role vs Aus for us. Still rate philander to score a test hundred soon against a top 4 nation, sooner than duminy.

SA 2 limping to avoid the follow on.

huge gap between the bests and the second bests.
Besides Duminy and M.Morkel, that Proteas team has been in a test mindset or longer version for a week minimum for some of them.

While the composite XI were only playing T20 cricket on Sunday.

I bet this pitch at the Wanderers is doing quite a bit with all the weather that has been around and the fact that the Wanderers can swing for 80 overs.

I wouldn't be looking at who stepped up or not in this game really or looking at the difference between the two teams because it isn't a true reflection just look at this hit in the middle in isolation.

Obviously it would have been nice if Abbott was around too but there are some really talented boys in that composite XI.

Maybe the composite XI's bowling attack is better than Australias attack  (sorry I went to the David Warner/Michael Clarke school of press confereneces )

I dont buy that the second team was "mentally" not ready for this game. it may be their one true shot, players like beuran henricks have shown not "if" but when they will play for the proteas.

This is their jobs they switch between formats every season.

Our best XI are just streets ahead of everyone else in the country... which isnt a surprise because half our team is the best in the world in their craft.

A one off game is not a crystal clear indication, but players like Elgar must be on thin ice.

D00lander coming in at at three in the current little intraclub match. Reckon this means Watson at 6 for the first test.
