Goneeee. How much did he miss that by?

We would have bowled them out by now had we had first use of the ball ...

Damn. Both sacrificial openers gone too early to see off the new ball. Game starts now and I share Barns' worry about Williamson here.

hopefully taylor scores as many runs as he did the last time he came in against india in a test in nz with the score at 23.

Well I guess despite the poor start we should be happy with these conditions, providing the swing hangs around for when we bowl (ideally no earlier than tomorrow morning).

haha Ishant, that's when he's deadly, when he gets it to really cut back in, did that a lot when he first came into the scene.

Dion Nash saying the he still thinks this pitch will be pretty flat given an hour or two of sun or a day's play.

I'm feeling a return of that familiar sense (been absent for a little while) that it's all on Taylor and Williamson to do the hard work here and make sure we get through to easier conditions later. Another wicket here and I'm really not going to enjoy McCullum and Anderson batting in these conditions.

Did it at 145 Kph when he started. Doing it at 130 Kph now.
nah he wasn't consistently 145+ even then (apart from the CB series which was in ODIs), not saying he didn't bowl at 145+ at some point but his speed was still in the mid 130s. He use to be able to get it to cut back off the seam though which he hasn't done in a long time.

Yeah, it would be so irritating if we get skittles for 200, and then the sun comes out this afternoon and it becomes a batting paradise. Goddamn McCullum.

Doesn't mean too much tbh. Southee is twice the bowler he was now at 130 than he was when trying to bowl as fast as he could.
Different type of bowler though. Ishant has always been more of a bounce bruiser and pace is probably more important to his success.

Nah, he wasn't a seam bowler at all then. Used to swing it in and bowl leg-cutters to take it away. Can't do the former at all now and is infinitely poorer at the latter.
