I don't disagree at all, and I certainly would not start him, but I do think for 15 or 20 minutes he could really cause teams problems. Carroll is such an extreme version of the old fashioned English striker, he is not a good footballer but on the rare occasion that he is actually fit and on form he can really do harm.

I have a bit of time for that idea, but not much. I think it confuses style for substance. When he does score it looks so brutally destructive and impossible to defend, like his incredible header against Sweden. But a more orthodox striker might score twice as many goals from the bench without creating that "Great to have a Plan B, force of nature, soft foreign defenders can't handle him" narrative. He's basically the footballing Steve Harmison.

The other issue is that if he goes, I don't trust Hodgson to use him sparingly enough, especially because the media are such massive fans. You can so badly see him getting an equaliser off the bench and starting the second round game ahead of an actual footballer.

Haha definetly get the Steve Harmison comparison, but you never know he might be Mitchell Johnson....ok i know.

Find myself in a strange situation with Carroll, have never rated him at all but now find myself calling for his inclusion. England still have very few options really.

Everyone's siding with Citeh? I want Chelsea to win. Don't want to see Citeh run away with the title.

Yeah, I'm supporting Chelsea as an Arsenal fan. Think City are that much better than everyone else that if they win today that could be it for the tittle race.

I would like Arsenal to win the league but number one priority is that Chelsea don't, so definetly want City to win this one.

I mind City far less than Chelsea. And Mourinho copping a hiding would be hilarious.

If City win they'll be 1 point ahead of Arsenal with 14 games left to play. If the title race is on now, then it will be at the end of this evening too.

I'm firmly in the City camp for this one in any case. Can't stand Chelsea/Mourinho/Terry/Cole etc...

Point is more that I think City are better than Chelsea and think clawing back on Chelsea is easier than City, especially as City are already three points ahead.

If I were neutral I'd definitely be supporting City.

I'm rooting for City but that's my Gallagher addled brain talking really

Tbf to chavs, look like they're gonna have a go and not play for the point

The Gallagher bit tongue in cheek ftr but I don't mind City, all in all. Fans were decent back when they played us a few times

Yeah, but if City really are all that much better than everyone else, then this game won't make much difference imo, even if they lose.

Chelsea's counter attacking been excellent so far, and for all their possession city not looked like scoring much
