Doubt that. Would like to look at those numbers.
Yea...is there any link to officially show those numbers??? I hope that statement is right but I have my doubts too. The only healthy deals that I am aware of is Star India paying a boat load for TV rights in India.

Windfall TV deal gives cricket new lease of life

'Gyngell confirmed Fairfax Media reports that the network would seek a bigger say in scheduling, including a push to play the first Test in Perth rather than Brisbane to capitalise on the prime ratings period'.

That was interesting...I guess it never went through. This is an article from June 2013 btw.

Or alternatively promoting new rivalries, and traditions by bringing in new blood into the fold. I am pretty sure that using 2nd tier test cricket as a platform to nurture a Bangsladesh-Afghanistan, or Ireland-Scotland, maybe even Zimbabwe-Kenya rivalry could really do alot of good for the diversity of the test cricket market.

well theyre out there, though from many different links.

australia made a near $600 million 5-year domestic deal recently and a similar overseas, mainly india, deal estimated at $200m

england have a four-year £280m domestic deal (tipped for a big increase with BT sports entering the market) and a 7-year overseas worth £100m

I make that some $300 million per year. The IPL gets $160 million, I think.

Well I would be all for this...if the sport was actually promoted the right way in some of these countries. I cannot speak for African countries but I know that the sport's promotion has been pathetic in North America....any hype surrounding any game or series has been due to the expat population (pre existing market). Another error that Cricket has made is the difficulty of access fans have to the sport as expats.

In the past few years Cricket Canada has managed to rope in sponsorship's with RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) and ScotiaBank (IIRC and is also a sponsor of Cricket in the WI). However, they have done very little with this. Pathetic management and administration has rendered this nearly useless in spreading the sport.

So, about 640 million USD then, without the IPL being included.
Yes Sir. IPL rights are with SET (Sony Entertainment Television) but I believe the contract might expire soon. There are string rumours in the industry that STAR might go for the IPL rights as well....they already have done a brilliant coup by being a Title sponsor of the IPL , thus ensuring that their brand is present on one of the biggest rivals property.

The fact that Zimbabwe and Ireland will be in Intercontinetal cup for good, means the cream of their crop will want to play for England now, also cash.Zimbabwe currently on strike heard rumours Brendon Taylor will end up at Hampshire.
South Africa will be no longer part of the top 3 meaning a big cash drop could see a lot of South Africans move to county cricket, even Graeme Smith who now has his Irish passport. They are also looking at having 2 Black people per team,so expect a lot of Whites to jump ship.
Holland has lost its one day status so if Ryan Detouschate wants to play international cricket,it will have to be for England, and he is qualified.
Expect County cricket to double from 70 foreigners a year,to 140 in the next few seasons, especially with these players being cheap.
What do you expect when you end the test ambitions of Zimbabwe and European counties, and halve the ammount of cricket South Africa will play.

South Africa were getting **** on by the FTP anyway, they play less Tests than any other top 8 nation through to 2020.

I thought England had put restrictions in place so foreign players had to have played international cricket in the last 3 years or be England qualified in order to play County cricket these days?

If you have an EU,UK passport your in.
They put restrictions on Kolpak agreements played a certain ammount of Tests or One dayers for a Test country over the last 2 years.

This is a chinese negotiation tactic. Take an unreasonable position which would be promptly rejected and then "settle" for something lesser which is what you wanted all along.

I don't think fixed relegation would work or a two tier system. These proposals could be nothing but added to be intentionally dropped in the first round and give opposing parties something to save face. The most important thing which the big 3 are looking for is to dilute the FTP and give boards more discretionary power to choose the series.
