What do you think of Virat Kohli?

Could do with scoring big tons. 5 Test tons with a best of 119 isn't particularly flash.

Disclaimer: I'm being hyper critical of him on the basis of his ODI exploits.

Only thing he needs now, many players in their first 20-30 tests struggle to make big hundreds, Cook was the same for us for a long while. Now that **** can't even buy a run.

India's next great Batsman! You heard it here first folks. I am now Kohli's first official fan. The rest will just be jumping on the bandwagon.

very good player, but personally dont like his attitutde...maybe its his age and will grow out of it..before i get slammed what i mean by that is , Sachin never had an ego, he let his bat do the talking...again i repeat, very good player and looks capable of scoring across the globe...

so awta. Comes across as an awful ****. Is an awesome ODI bat.

I am adding Mahinder ****ing Singh Dhoni to my list of despicable cricketers thanks to his god awful post match conferences. Arguably the greatest ODI bat in history.

Two great indian bats but can't say they are anywhere near as likeable as Sachin or Dravid

Huh, always think MSD is a safe speaker in press conferences. Monotonous, boring **** who always seems neutral. There are other reasons to hate him like his continued selection of Ishant and Raina.

Nah, MS is boring at press conferences. Safe isn't good enough. He seldom addresses the performance by the opposition, all he does is talk about his players and his plans. A word of praise for an exceptional performance by the opposition wouldn't go amiss. I think he consciously tries to avoid controversial slip ups, but the way ensures it is plain lazy at best and self centered at worst.

No one cares that Virat isn't as likeable as Sachin. What matters is how he plays; cricketers don't have to be role models FFS.

Have never heard any captain give more excuses than Dhoni in press conferences. Can't remember the last time he did one after an ODI where he didn't mention how the new rules are ****ing him over.

Neither of them come across as dicks to me. I thought Dhoni was good last night in the press conference.

And of course he's going to talk about his team. He's the captain. He's asked about his team's performance and he's expected to answer.

I reckon some people could be really surprised if they met someone like Kohli away from cricket. Good players think and talk with confidence and almost aggressively back their side, which comes across as arrogance. Kohli wouldn't be as good as he is if he didn't at least think this stuff. The only difference between him and Dravid is Dravid keeps it in his head when he's talking to the mediaa. I don't really have an issue with someone willing to speak it provided they can do stuff like credit the opposition etc which Kohli does. Before play yesterday he gave NZ more respect than a lot of supposedly good guys of the game have in the past.

Still don't like the guy, but holy **** what a player. That ton last night was the best ODI innings I've seen in a long time.

Well, how about that. A thread from 4 years ago and now I think it would be fair to say Kohli is on his way to being an ODI ATG. Funnily enough this is the first time I've properly seen him bat. Prior to this I'd seen the odd highlights package. Without doubt he is a complete batsman and his wagon wheel showed that.
