Another puzzling decision on the night was when Reardon refused to run when Richardson hit the ball down the ground off the last ball of the over. Reardon clearly showed he didn't rate Richardson's batting but he should have said to Kane to just give it a whack that ball and hope to hit a 4 or 6 (or 2). Basically, I don't think Richardson was aware of Reardon's intentions and didn't try as hard as he could have if he had a full licence to swing.
