***Official*** India in South Africa 2013/14

This is a really impressive performance from India, especially to run so counter to expectations. Watched a bit of Kohli and Pujara the other night and they were fantastic. Nice to see the India fans on here so ebullient too.
the offstump judgement by the Indian top order has been a treat. One of the best batting displays I have ever seen from a sub cont side outside their comfortzone.

and I never realized it but Pujara is scary good the way he lift the tempo off his innings is just a treat to watch.

Tbf, he was in shock at not having his usual raging green top to bowl on

Good bowler but his career average would be 10+ higher if he played for any number of other countries
In matches that Philander and Steyn have played together, Philander has outbolwed Steyn both home and away.

Wow go India, looks like carnage. Honestly find that batting lineup more scary than the one with Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid, Tendulkar & Laxman.

So so excited but it'll break my heart if we don't manage to bowl them out and win from here.

Teja.

How embarrassed Teja must be seeing the way Tahir bowled.
Oh ffs, I never once called him good after he actually entered test cricket, I liked the look of him in the 2011 WC but so did everyone else.

Is this becoming a thing? Jumping on the bandwagon after I'm ripping on a player for years and not acknowledging my genius but calling out every random half-pick I make? :p

Yes. Get with the times.

If he is generally this bad then he will end up with the 'most hated opposition player' tag that Ponting had for so long.. Amazing cricketer and all but **** him.
Say what you want about Ponting, but he made sure never to make any excuses like that (even if they were true). That's something I always admired about him - even times where I thought he had a legitimate right to complain or make an excuse for a performance in the post match conference, he never did.

Dhoni's another one who keeps making excuses. The ODI we dropped against WI was a great example of that. Kept going on about the dew for ages, even in the next match when we won the toss and batted first against SA.

How about we just enjoy a good Test match by a couple of decent players rather than pretending it's the second coming?

Pujara as of this moment looks like Dravid, only with one extra gear of acceleration. Looks so special. Right on track for my prediction of him having a 60+ average throughout the majority of his career

I mean this is exactly like when people were saying 'Irfan Pathan looks like Wasim Akram except better with the bat' after he took a couple wickets in a match.

This is what happens when people don't understand simple ****ing English.

I said "as of this moment looks like ". I didn't say he's better obviously. Ridiculous you'd even think that. It means he has the potential to be a Dravid with +1 gear. Which he obviously does

Yeah, OS said as of this moment too. Think your response was a bit over the top SS, though I can understand where you're coming from having supported a country that hypes their players up like no one else.

What I like about this innings is that we all kinda knew it was a possibility. Sorta like how with England's fall in the Ashes, there were hints. Except that rather than South Africa having some conspicuous weaknesses (e.g. not scoring 400 in a while) it was that we'd all seen Pujara score runs against very good bowling.

It's still outrageous and shocking, but it's really cool to see players that we rate fulfil their potential.

I still like how he looks in ODIs. For all the filth he bowls in Tests he's a pretty handy one day bowler.

He's run into Michael Clarke and David Warner, Virat Kohli and Che Pujara on non-turning tracks. Sorry if I'm not prepared to throw in the towel on him yet.
