*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

I didn't see much Shoaib and Lee wasn't really that good a Test bowler until he stopped trying to blast batsmen away.

But I don't think I've ever seen so many Test batsmen so comprehensively beaten for pace in one innings before. Certainly not on a pitch like that.
Well Shoaib did that to you lot in that Test in Sri Lanka. That was just scary pace.

Akhtar destroyed the Aussie middle order of Ponting, Waugh brothers, Martyn and Gilchrist in Colombo 2002. That was one of the greatest middle order to ever play cricket.

I loved it. It's all spot on anyway, but maybe it's worth mentioning that this is a guy who, aged 40, was willing to get his arse into line against Roberts, Holding, Garner, croft and Marshall. He's more entitled than most to have a glorious rant about this lot's lack of any sort of spine.
Damn straight.

I'd have Geoff in the team now, aged 71

He was also a bloke who dodged Australia in 74-75 though.

True.

Except, with Johnson, even when he's been crap, you always knew he was having a dig. When Shoaib was crap you often couldn't say that.

He just didn't always have a go. And if there's a a greater indictment on a sportsperson than that, I don't know what it is.

No no no no no. It's just we're waiting for our batting line up to inevitably fall in a heap, and can't quite believe they've conjured enough runs so far to put us in this position.

Speaking of conjure, twins made me watch The Conjuring this evening. **** I hate horror movies.
Yeah the movie wouldn't do much for a guy who was alive during the Salem Witch Trials and learned about it first hand.

Mate, when we're embarrassing the English to this ridiculous degree, there's no need to say anything. #Johnsonstare

If it really is bothering you though, I'm happy to spend the night posting about all the ways England have been so incredibly abysmal. And there are so many.
If you do that you'll end up with repetitive strain injury.

Johnson's bowling this morning was better than Akhtar's best
Nah Shoaib making your batsmen look **** scared on the flat Pakistani tracks was better.

Either way, both Mitch and Shoaib more than capable of making English batsmen poo their pants.

Don't know about Johnson in this regard, but I will agree with you that Akhtar was like this.

Don't worry lads. Just lulling them into a false sense of security. When we start playing Johnson properly, and make him look like the pie chucker we all know he really is, the Aussie's will soon go back to their old selves, and forget how to win a game. We'll smash them in the 3rd, and end up taking the Ashes back to England 3-2.

Johnson in this mode is as frightening as anything I have ever seen, Shoaib included. I don't think that's too controversial an opinion tbh.
Shoaib rarely looked non-threatening as a bowler. MJ's inconsistencies, or flaws if you will, make him seem like he is so much more when he isn't. Granted he is one of the best pure pace bowlers of the last 10-15 years but there were better bowlers than him. Everyone waiting for MJ to come crashing down from this high also influences a few opinions no doubt. He is ****ing scary atm.
