Great article today in The Mail on Sunday, written by the excellent Patrick Collins, with the headline: STOP THIS IDIOCY!
Not going to key it all in but would like to pass on some of his observations. On Clarke's much quoted words aimed at Anderson: 'Clarke has rarely been mistaken for a sophisticated wordsmith, but that little effort seemed particularly pathetic. After spending years of Test match cricket assessing people like Anderson, that is the most damaging jibe he can manage'.
' Anderson has a long-standing reputation for verbal provocation, while his colleague, Stuart Broad, has faithfully followed the same peevish path'.
'bath Matt Prior and Graeme Swann are regarded as masters of the cutting quip. Yet, for the moment at least, Australia are making the pace, nobody more so than the oafish David Warner'.
Best quote though is left to a man that we ignore at our peril: (Ian Chappell)- 'As a batsman you are entitled to peace and quiet out there..........I would not be putting up with the crap that is going on'.
'If the ICC don't stop all the chatter that's going on, something personal will be said at the wrong time and you will have fisticuffs.....and who knows what might happen? Particularly if a guy has a bat in his hand.'
