The pitch is a great pitch that has a little in it for the bowlers, but I'm thinking 3 or 4/118 is a more even score, not 9 down. That's what happens though when you have Finch out of form getting so quickly and Wade getting needlessly run out. Credit to SA though, I'm looking forward to how domestic batting gun Hughes handles these conditions.

Is Finch really out of form though or he is just not very good at Shield cricket? It's remarkable how he seems to find form on exactly the same days as Ryobi Cup games, Big Bash games, IPL games, T20 Internationals and ODIs against Scotland and then lose it as mysteriously as it came on the same days as Shield games and ODI games against Test nations.

BTW, Benny Dunk is having a good start to the Shield. I remember him making runs in his first season for QLD in T20 Cricket and thought he looked a good talent with his crisp hitting, so yeah its good to see.

How ****ed is it that McDermott got pulled away from the tour game only for him to miss out on selection for QLD.

I actually don't mind Neser; think it'd be a shame for Australian cricket as a whole if someone like him couldn't get a Shield game. McDermott obviously the better player though.
