He's doing his best to get out to Broad. Admittedly I'm sitting at deep point, but he's looked pretty mediocre thus far.

Also Root hasn't taken the field after copping one on the hand (and into the gents) while batting.

Alongside fellow NSWelshman Aaron Finch's stunning half-century which has sent him right into Ashes contention, Muirhead's performance was the highlight of the match. Cowan also made runs, so more positives for the Blues.

That single South Australian import, Ferguson, was absolute rubbish though. Who would have thought parachuting him into an all-NSW XI would end in anything but failure?
