I think Bell might have just hit the ground with his bat and the ball naturally ended up at first slip, ftr

see above. but more detail: ball was wide outside off, looked like a stock leg spinner, so the ball was spinning to BIG BEN at slip. idk, i could be wrong but i wasn't surprised to see Bell not walk straight off

Almost the perfect work out for England so far, bowlers got a decent bowl without being flogged into ground and most of the bats got decent runs. Dodgy weather ahead so just bat it out then let Finn and Swann get more overs before the test.

Muirhead bowled way too short, Root did a Clarke against Lalor (did seam appreciably, to be fair) and took what felt like an hour of treatment.
How has Bairstow played Test cricket? Jammiest innings so far; looks completely shot technique wise.
