lol

You can make anything sound ridiculous if you dress it up in a completely ******** way, like you have here.

Those were the things that happened across the continent, and they produced colder, moister weather, and a lot more rain than is normal. It impacted pitches and conditions during the cricket series being played at the time, producing more familiar conditions for the travelling side. Completely ludicrous, I know.

Like it or not champ, the weather was bizarre that summer and had a huge impact on the series. Australia lost because they were ****, but conditions were helpful for England too.

It will have a huge impact this summer also, just it'll favour the home side because it will be more typical for them, which will tighten the series up, I should think. It's called home advantage - but without the doctored wickets. fella.

Ballance 0, Prior 4, Stokes 4... just like old times. Maybe Carberry's going to make the team after all!

Can we bring Bell back in? ;)

Can we go back to the part where I'm lying about spending 3 days at the Adelaide test in sweltering heat watching the Aussies bowl gun barrel straight (for 2 of those days).........cos this is the part where I get lost with your once in a 100 year climate aberration that turned that particular Aussie summer into one more reminiscent of England.

Granted it was ****ing cold for most of the Melbourne test, but then again.......it also was in 2006.

If it makes you feel better I'll say it was a completely normal summer. Whatever bud.

This is your response?? What a total cop out. WTF does that even mean anyway........If it makes you feel better???

Mate I just want to know why when I said I spent 3 days in Adelaide sweltering last time watching the Aussie bowlers serve up dross you said some ****e about my pommy skin lying??........do I need to look up and post the Adelaide weather Ob's for that week in 2010 FFS?

This is quite simple mate. When a player/supporter of any losing side comes out with such comments as the weather conspired against us........you will and should get hammered for it, because it is a **** comment to make. The Aussies went down in 3 tests by an innings margin........I don't really give a crap what your weather was doing up and down the country that summer, you got beat because you played **** cricket. That is the end of it. There is no postscript or clarification required.

I actually agree with you that this series will be a close contest, but it has nothing to do with "typical" weather. It is because the Aussies have improved since 10/11 and England are not as strong as they were back then.

He said England were the better team. He also said the weather helped them out; as it happened. I can't recall the weather tbh but he wasn't making it an excuse for Australia losing - okey dokey?

EDIT: Nice avatar btw.

This Avatar will be gone in exactly 19 days thank god!!

Look, this debate is going nowhere (and is clearly getting on his Lordships **** above) but for the record I was just pointing out that the weather during the Adelaide test didn't quite match 3703's tales of climatic turmoil at the time. I would say the weather was very typical for an Adelaide test, stinking hot and not much movement on offer for the quicks..........and England still won by an innings. So if there was any unusual weather patterns at the time, who is to say it did indeed benefit England when they won that test so convincingly??

I don't know why you keep saying it's going to be at hot summer. It rained here last week. If you think it's gonna be a hot summer then why did I spend 3 hours with a hood on, in the cold?
