***Official*** Australia in India 2013 Short formats

Thought Australia's bowling tactics today were pretty dumb. They continued to bowl short even though it was quite obvious it wasn't causing any discomfort to the batsmen. Huge confidence booster for India. Do think they need to bring in Unadkat and one of Mohit Sharma/Dhawal Kulkarni for Vinay and Ishant.

Chasing the 2nd biggest victory target in history of cricket, win it with 9 wickets and 6.3 overs to spare.

India - Take a bow.

Australia - Having been at the receiving end of the biggest 4 chases in ODI history, take a good look at yourselves.
Do you realise those games are spread out over quite a few years?

Is there a road to cricket world cup or similar thread? Been using the search function but nothing seems to be coming up. Always interesting to see how the teams are coming up.

Hard to see India repeating they're 2011 victory with their current bowling unit. Australia have come out of their funk and looking a solid bet right now (or not seeing as they are favourites) although there seems to be a lot of movement in their team. Need to settle on a lineup but that seems unlikely in the short term with the fixture gridlock and injuries- but still looks to have impressive depth.
Kind of what was said about them in the leadup to WC 2011 as well.
I think India do have a few other bowling options that have been untried e.g Mohit Sharma plus guys who are returning from injury and will probably be in the frame if fit - eg Varun Aaron so
I wouldn't assume that the attack they are fielding in this series is what they'll go with in the WC.

Hit the like button if you thought you were watching an episode of Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma or Comedy Inc.
If you meant the commentary, I thought it was incisive compared with Senile Sentry's contributions to this thread.

How much does it kill all of you that I have laid claim to not only Kohli but Rohit Sharma too? Dead set what a ****ing duo. Love my boys Sooooooooo much.

Not much as I was mostly watching the test match as that is more important.

Kohli is a lot better than Sharma tbh. I think the latter is one of the waist high bully brigade.

Chappelli has been banging on to get Rohit in the team because he's one of the few Indians who can play the short ball.

Agree with you that Kohli is better, but we haven't seen rohit in the long form yet.

Yeah, claiming Rohit as part of the waist high brigade is a bit stereotypical isn't it? I hope he gets the nod in the test team. At least innings like today prevent the usual ****s trying to argue a guy with no tests to his name has had plenty of chances 8-), of which he's failed.

It's an odd argument, the different formats one. If it was used in reverse, Australia would have discarded Bevan from ODIs after his test career faltered.

Yeah and going on the last few months Finch would be making his test debut at Brisbane.

Can see why Rohit is unlucky, got a ridiculous first class record and is still yet to play a test when Yuvraj and Raina have had loads of chances and done naff all. Guess the varying forms of filth they bowl swung it for them.

Finch has always been solid in one day cricket and terrible in FC though so I'm still on the fence on him being in the test side.

Although it was a good innings, I don't think V Kohli's innings was much better than Bailey's. Their strike rate was very similar and Kohli didn't come in under great pressure and it was a batter's paradise. Where India won it was restricting Australia to 66 runs after 15 overs. And for this reason my MOTM goes to B Kumar! I gave I Sharma a bagging before, but tbf his bowling was better than the majority of the Australians.
