I was actually thinking about making the point during Australia's innings that with Faulkner in the side as a specialist bowler, Australia could pretty much afford to just pick the best available gloveman who could have a swing, even if he ended up at 8 and only averaged abouit 20. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that it was probably Haddin anyway as the better glovemen - Nevill, Paine, Hartley - are very orthodox and correct players, so I didn't make the post.

And then Haddin dropped that catch.

This sounds similar to my specialist keeper in T20 theory. Where's my credit ****

I reckon Phil Hughes should be given the gloves after these performances recently from Haddin and Wade ;) In all seriousness though, George Bailey at 6 for the first test at the Gabba?
