Personally I wouldn't have gone with Sodhi, I'd have had another seamer - Gillespie assuming he's not bowling off 6 paces. Williamson and Martin are there to block ends and get gifted wickets occasionally. The seamers will do as much if not more damage but obviously they can't bowl many overs in the heat.

Sodhi shouldn't be in the squad let alone the team.

Wow Anderson looks medium these days. Quite a come down from those 20/20s against SA and in the HRV Cup.

Nice action though.

Well you'd have to say that's a good fifty from Mominul - risky at times but it's worked out. And Bangladesh would be in an awful position without his contribution.

I thought the selection of Mominul ahead of Naeem was entirely unjustified - still do tbh - but he's certainly shutting me up a bit here.

slightly dangerous time for NZ (in terms of pushing for the win), if they are to push for a meaningful first innings lead they really need another Bangladesh wicket soon as arguably Bangladesh's three best batsmen are batting 5, 6 and 7 (although Mominul is quite talented). Rahim in particular is known for being able to occupy the crease for long periods, so NZ would be really keen here I'd say

Well that was a pretty depressing couple of hours. New Zealand desperately need to crack this partnership early tomorrow morning or else the draw is pretty much guaranteed.

I really don't get why the seamers bowled so little. Yeah, Boult needs some rest, but Bracewell was bowling well (despite getting hit for a few 4's in his 4th over). Looked a lot more likely than any of the spinners. Sodhi looked alright, but I can see why he hasn't taken too many wickets in FC cricket. No drift, not even much turn, and generally always a couple of meters too short. Can't see the trio of Sodhi, Anderson and Bartin getting many wickets, which leaves a truck-load of work for the other bowlers.

This match is well poised, a lot can happen on day 4 and 5, and very quickly, even when runs seemed easy early on, we could be set for a bit of a thriller, a bit like the test match WI stole of Bangladesh a while ago

Agree with this statement completely. Seems very strange to me that we pick these three players or at least Sodhi and Anderson. Bangladesh aren't the team they used to be and shouldn't be taken lightly. Regardless of the pitch conditions you can bet Wagner and Gillespie would be more successful than any of them.
