*Official* Third Test at Old Trafford

Taylor should get a go ahead of Bairstow next test, he wont but he should be given a proper shot at it like Bairstow has.

How long will England go before they realise the odd scratchy 60 and an average around 30 isn't enough from a test match batsman?

Its really getting tedious now hearing the commentators harp on about that 95 v SA.

Was pretty sure but a bit less now. If KP plays on we have a good chance but if it's co-lapse then it depend on how **** we plays in the second innings.
If we follow on, this pitch isn't spicy enough to roll us over cheaply and quickly imo. Now if monday was forecast clear then I would be a bit more worried.

Prior the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the world? AB?
Has barley donned the gloves a year, and his batting form really fell away in England and the first two Australian tests. Needs to show he can keep getting runs and keep well for a sustained period to overleap someone like Prior who's been doing it for over three years now.

Warne said batsmen first so I assume he meant the batting part of the job, AB seems to have adjusted well now, would also say Chandimal is slightly better than Prior

Gotta review that, surely.

Edit: Thought it was more on the leg stump line, rather than the middle I'm seeing on the replay now. Still worth a shout given the situation though.

Would be absolutely ridiculous not to
I don't think so. There's two days left after this and the pitch isn't going to get any easier to bat on. If England get bowled out in the next 15-20 overs just over 200 behind I think Australia will bat tomorrow until tea or something and score as quickly as possible and then give themselves four sessions to win. Rain is the key variable though, only reason for enforcing would be if you don't expect to play much on day 5.

Haha that's such a cherry-pick.

FWIW, I think AB has done a fine job with the gloves. It's more a case of whether he can sustain run scoring for a prolonged period when wearing the gloves. Obviously with it occupying more training time, creating more fatigue etc, it gets harder.
