The real Pujara and Co will be in action after this tour ends, and will be more relevant than this tour.

I need to call out some yellow journalism, or angry fan rants, about how often India struggle to clean up tail ends. Even as the same bunch mock the likes of Amit Mishra and Umesh Yadav for merely getting tail-end wickets. It's not the tail end that frustrates the Indian bowlers, but active lower middle-order players who can actually get runs. Indians can wipe tail ends nicely, but when the batting runs deep, they struggle. They could also do with tail-wiping bowlers.

Good lord, this Jadeja love from the Ten Cricket staff is jaw-dropping. End of commercial, and this is what we hear
Spoken by Mayanti Langer on TEN Cricket
Comes back to the party, taking plenty of wickets
Hang on, Mandy, Mishra's taken three times as many wickets in as many games, and nobody says anything.

In 19 games, the one ignored by the powers that be gets 31 wickets with an economy under 4.5, while India's new superhero got his 31st wicket in his 36th match, at more runs per over.

In other comments, Mohit Sharma and JDU have been rather impressive in this game, and JDU in particular is keeping up a good record. These two should figure in the frontline for India A in South Africa. Shami Ahmed, on the other hand, is no more than a T20/ODI specialist who will always be aced by the Test stalwarts.

After Australia scored 470? The bowlers would have revolted, batting into the third day was madness, but in reality, Australia lost wickets at the end slogging, so a result was never really possible on that pitch.
Bucknor contributed to the draw too, tbf,

Haven't caught any of this series. Has Mishra bowled well or it's the zimbabwe batsmen ?

The Zimbabwe batsmen, mostly. They are, as Arun Lal sas, a depleted lot. Even then, Mishra scalped as many wickets as the second and third-placed bowlers in this series put together, and leads the tally at 12.

Or, shock horror, he's actually improved as a cricketer since his first 30-odd games.

This Yuvraj-Singh-swap-without-the-batting-skills was poor all the way to his 58th game and was dropped since March/April 2012. Only since his recall in Jan 2013 did the captain's faith and the regional officials' lobbying bear fruit.

That other bloke from Saurashtra seems to have shaped up nicely. Touring with the A team for an extended period and three more seasons of domestic cricket will make him into a serious national prospect- maybe not quite the next Zaheer Khan, but still capable. He's got the raw material, and needs some refinement and match experience.

There seem to be more comments on individual Cricinfo pages than across the entire thread. But we know where the quality is better, don't we?
