***Official*** India/Sri Lanka/West Indies tri-series

Game one is already underway, and I couldn't find a thread for it!

Although I'm greatly disappointed to see the SL vs WI test series cancelled, all three ODI sides have sent full strength squads and we should have some really good cricket with India facing off against two of world cricket's short form specialists. I must admit I'm pretty keen for this series.

I won't post the schedule but basically each team plays each other twice and then there is a final.

Cameraman has spent most of the last hour honing in on the bikini clad women by the pool, ensuring the game is still well and truly entertaining...

I would expect WI to chase this below par total down relatively comfortably, but of course the SL spinners will have a big say on how close this contest will be. Not seen Ajantha Mendis for a while so looking forward to seeing if his bowling has developed any.

Bad drop from Mathews, early strike would have been the kind of boost SL need here. Ajantha's already into the attack, not much turn for him unsurprisingly, but could be a handful if he just gets a bit of assistance.

Gayle taking control of this innings, spanking Kulasekara for two towering sixes, typically effortless. Charles not making it look quite so easy at the other end.

Nobody interested in this tourney, or what?

Should be some good cricket!
It appears not! Or people just aren't aware it's started.

There is some good cricket going on right now, Malinga vs Gayle, a top edged hook from Gayle going the distance, Malinga following up with two 140kph+ yorkers, gripping stuff.

Charles finally gets one of out of something near the middle of his bat. Was just about to suggest he step aside a straight one and let someone else have a do. He's really struggled, got to be worth throwing the bat for a while to try and get some momentum into his innings.

Not actually a day-nighter is it - started 9.30 local time - but they've got another couple of hours to play if it goes the distance, and it's starting to get a bit gloomy now!

Not sure he needs to do so. There's not much wrong in playing second fiddle to CHG!
Nothing wrong with playing second fiddle at all to Gayle, but he has looked woefully out of nick to be fair, a couple of sweet-ish struck maximums have salvaged his strike rate, which ended at just 50, somewhat. He was struggling to turn the strike around aswell.

I guess you're right. My point merely being he didn't really need to turn the strike,as the RRR never got out of reach.

Yes the run rate was never going to be an issue with Gayle doing what he does and so that extent Charles can afford a few dot balls, but still need to bat with some intensity in his innings despite chasing a below-par target. On the one hand you can tell Charles in that situation to work through it and not give his wicket away, but in reality WI looked so comfortable he was just clogging things up, and not even looking good doing so. Think Bravo will tick things along better and get CG on strike, which is what the Jamaican crowd have come to see!

Gayle finally gone for 109, a top knock that has taken WI to the brink of victory. Still time for some of Bravo's thunderous drives, crashing shot through extra cover.

Bravo now been stitched up by Smauels just when he was looking in good touch. Maybe didn't react too quickly to Samuels change in call but even so looked like Samuels sold him down the river there.
