Pretty sorry indictment of NZ's batting depth that Ronchi should really come into consideration as a batsman - has lots of talent but is an all or nothing merchant and I don't think it's unfair to rate him as nothing more than a pretty good bat for a keeper
I don't disagree, but it's the reality of the matter. I advocated Ronchi's dropping from the WA side several times but he seems really serious about playing international cricket now and, credit to him, he's been putting the runs on the board in the NZ domestic cricket. Say what you like about the standard of that, but that's his competition. Little doubt in my mind that he's a better #6 than Martin Guptill or Daniel Flynn anyway.

Plus one, thanks

I just think it's hilarious that Ronchi hasn't played for NZ yet considering all the other hacks who have. If it had been anyone else with his record/ability they'd have been in the side ASAP.

Only need a session to finish it but I expect the real challenge will be getting on the pitch between bits of drizzle.

I expect whenever the sun's out we'll get an impressively blind "play in 45 minutes" decree, in which time it rains again

Saker makes the Victorian's concession - he doesn't shout. Most Victorians wouldn't shout if a shark bit them.

Wherever I read about this Test, I read about England's failure to either follow on, bat at a higher RR or declare earlier.
Is that really what this is all about? I think the choices were conservative, yet nothing spectacularily wrong.

Does Swann bowl in his sunnies because he has a problem with his eyes, or does he want to look like a pub cricket douche bag?
