The most underrated test innings??

When you look at the top 100 or 50 test innings of all time, you always find a few overrated innings mentioned in it and some of the better innings are missing,
What are the most underrated test innings which you have seen which should be rated highly according to you??

Ian Botham 118 at Old Trafford in 1981. It gets largely forgotten in the history books due to his series turning slog at Headingley. Old Trafford was a far better innings and give or take the occasional close your eyes and hook 6's off Lillee it was just orthodox hitting.

Reckon Slat's knock doesn't get much of a go because he was probably run-out early doors. Was a fab knock post 50, though.

Personally don't think KP's two 50's on debut get enough press. The first one in particular was a gem. Rarely have I personally seen someone absorb that much pressure and still look to attack.

Jeremy Coney's 111* to guide NZ from 23/4 to their target of 278 against a rampant Wasim in 1984. Ewen Chatfield's rearguard in the same innings was pretty fantastic as well.

John Edrich's second innings here

He had taken over the poisoned chalice of the captaincy after Mike Denness famously dropped himself - went out in the second innings and had Dennis Lillee crack a couple of ribs with his first delivery - went to hospital and with the game all but lost came back in at the fall of the sixth wicket only for Greigy, the last recognised bat, to take a wild swish and get stumped - Edrich then held on with the tail for the best part of two and half hours before Geoff Arnold was beaten - folk only remember how lethal the gruesome twosome were in that series, and how poor the rest of the England batting was, but Edrich showed the world how to play fast bowling

That is one special attack, Marshall would have started to slow down, but still quality top to bottom.

If only Bishop had managed to stay healthy, he very well may have been in contention to be among the best, if not the best ever, he was that special.

Simon Katich carried his bat through this innings. If you want an idea of the conditions, look at the luminaries who fell around him and the fact Johnson got a 5fer.

Upon review - I think that Knott's first innings top score of 82 (only 121 balls) deserves a mention too.
